When I got the call from baby Kirsi’s excited momma a few weeks ago, I knew I had to figure out a way to get up to her. The family lives in Traverse City and I had never done a travel session that far in Michigan. But everything worked out perfect. I was going up to my sister’s cottage in Gladwin for Memorial Day weekend and Kirsi showed up just a few days before. I was able to take off from the cottage for a day and meet Kirsi in person at 6 days old! And I was so lucky to have my Aunt Barb travel over from Bear Lake to be my special assistant. Kirsi was a good little girl with her adorable chubby cheeks. A trip well worth it! Meet Kirsi, 6 days old.

Squishy 7-day-old Liam is the first baby I’ve worked with that would stay perfectly still in his poses while awake. Normally, babies don’t like to be posed when awake and they flail about. Not this baby. Liam let me move his little legs and hands without making a peep. Of course, we had to get some sleepy pictures, too, so just a little feeding and out he was. He has the most perfect skin, too. No skin-smoothing necessary here! :) Meet Liam, 7 days old.

Charley was one of the three winners in the newbies contest a couple months ago and I was so excited to meet her. I was dying to take her pictures when I saw her hair. This little girl is 6 months old and already wears pigtails. For real. Pigtails. Throw in some chubby cheeks and some blue eyes and you have a damn beautiful baby. Just a quick note from the studio. I asked on the facebook page yesterday if anyone would be interested in attending a fun summer picnic for all my clients. The response was very positive, so I am going to go ahead and plan. I think it will be awesome to see all my babies and families I’ve photographed in one place. We’d have food, games for the kids, parents can have first dibs then to sign up for the 2011 holiday mini sessions, and get a booking special. While everyone is there, I’m thinking about getting a group shot and pictures of the different age groups together. I’d also take some snapshots of all the guests and send you the pictures.

I just really want to put this together to show how much I appreciate you guys. I swear I have the best clients on Earth. I love all the babies and children I get the opportunity to play with. It is so special that you allow me into your lives to capture your memories. I truly am lucky to have all of you in my life. Thank you.

Now onto the Wozniak family…

A few weeks ago I spent the morning with this awesome family. The boys were so sweet and their parents are super cool. We went for a very natural look in these pictures and the big brother really hammed it up! So fun! I have never seen a baby SO in tune with the camera. She looked at me and smiled the whole time. I swear she was posing. She could 100% be a baby model! I first met Dylan and his family in September when he was just days old. A sweet, chubby baby at a week is now a sweet, chubby baby at 6 months. He was a major smiler, probably because his daddy is a total ham. Tom kept me cracking up the whole time. It’s so nice to see all my September baby boom babies. I had a crazy birth spurt in late August/early September and now they are all 6 months together. Isn’t it crazy how time flies? I can’t believe it’s been six months! We recreated a shot from his newborn session and while going through the old images to find the original, I couldn’t believe how my photography skills have improved in that little time. Before I get to these adorable boys, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who came out to see my booth at the Tummy to Toddler Expo yesterday. There was a huge turnout! Along with all the new families I met, about 15 current clients showed up with their babies. I can’t thank you enough for all your support. I’ll be posting pictures soon of the booth!

Now on to these two. I love these boys. Their family is filled with wonderful, sweet people. I met them last year and did 2 sessions with their family. Their mom and dad, along with their grandma, grandpa, aunt, and uncle, have been nothing but gracious and welcoming to me. I’m lucky to know them all. In a few months, these little guys will become big brothers as their mama is having her third baby. I cannot wait! Mom had the idea to do a few pictures in Eli’s superhero bedroom and I was pleasantly surprised at how adorable the room was. They did such an awesome paint job! Meet Eli and Isaac.

Grayson. The most adorable little man with these great brown eyes and perfect skin, and by far the longest 3-month-old I have ever seen! I walked in and his little legs were sticking out of his swing seat and he didn’t even fit in my go-to three-month bucket! Thankfully I spotted a big basket in the family’s living room that worked perfectly.

Almost 2 months ago he joined his family in the most special of ways – adoption. Now three months old, you can tell the new parent love buzz has not worn off yet for his momma and daddy! You can so see the love in their eyes. It was awesome to have his adoring grandma and aunts on hand for a few snapshots, too. They are all so in love. I wanted to make sure I captured that love in his family’s first pictures. Can you see it?
